ABOUT  THE MARKET
Customers at our market take home fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables and other great food...

All Grown in Ontario.

Our farm market opens in late May, and in early June we feature STRAWBERRIES  picked from our fields. It's an exciting time of year; all our customers seem happy to enjoy fresh locally grown produce again. In June we sell rhubarb, asparagus, several kinds of peas and of course freshly picked strawberries.

For more information about our strawberries, click on the strawberry link at the top or bottom of this page. In the spring our bakers make shortcake to compliment the fresh berries, plus strawberry and rhubarb pies to go along with our other pie varieties. At the end of strawberry season (approximately mid July) we sell raspberries and then SWEET CORN. Reesor Farm Market had its beginning back in 1985 with sweet corn as the main crop. We sold it off a farm wagon at the side of the road freshly picked every day. We still offer freshly picked corn. Our corn season usually starts near the first part of July and continues to the end of September. We have had great tasting corn right up to Thanksgiving! (All depending on when the first frost arrives.) We usually grow about 6 to 8 different varieties of sweet corn. Our customers like to compare the features each has to offer. If you would like to read more about varieties and types of corn that we grow, please click on the sweet corn link.

          [Fresh, natural, ripe, red tomatoes]

Beginning late July we have locally grown FIELD TOMATOES, peaches from Loffretto’s fruit farm in Niagara, and a variety of other Ontario grown fruits and vegetables.   One of our customers' favourite vegetables is the sweet and crunchy carrots that come from John Marquis’ farm in the Holland Marsh.   At this time of year the bakery is offering many fruit pies including the seasonal favourites of wild blueberry and raspberry.

Some people come to our market just to purchase our FLOWERS. We offer hanging baskets in the late spring and early summer, gladiolas and freshly-cut bouquets in the summer and dryable straw and statice flowers and hearty chrysanthemums in the fall.

[Big, orange pumpkins for Halloween, pies, bread and more.]

At the end of our season (October) the market begins to feature apples and of course lots and lots of PUMPKINS. Choose a pumpkin from the field or one already picked from a selection of hundreds at the market. Every year we cut a maze through one of our corn fields. A corn maze is a fun challenge for kids of all ages. In 1998, 1999,and 2001 the profits from our Maze went to the Canadian Food Grains Bank. Pumpkin pies are definitely the favourite this time of year, made from our own pumpkins!
